So you return from your vacation, a bit tired from the journey (and hauling your overpacked black duffelbag of doom), and with only a dry sandwich from Charles De Gaulle airport in your stomach...

In short: you are hungry, you are tired, you are spoiled on great french food, and you have almost no food left in the kithcen...

To the rescue: Frakels Fabulous Seedmeeting 2010 Homecomming Feast

... or: what can I make of whatever I have?

This turned out to be:

- dry pasta
- a can of chopped tomatoes
- a can of kidney beans in chily sauce
- two eggs
- ketchup

Make a sacue of the chopped tomatoes, kidney beans and some kethcup in a pot. Add salt and pepper.
Boil the eggs with the pasta and some salt and olive oil until the pasta is done (the eggs will be hardboiled at this point). Peel the eggs and cut them in half.

Serve the pasta with the eggs on top and add the sauce. Add to this some fresh spice herbs, a glass of redvine, and 30 degrees in the sunset on your balcony... Then you only need some Pastis to be back in provence wink

Scrap that, I found one that has decent prices in the week starting from 26 June too.

I'm authorized to say that Frakel is in from the 26th June and onwards. I don't know if that qualifies as early enough, but if so, he wants to join us. The date is fine by me.

Thanks for giving voice for me DH smile. It so happens that my internet is back up again, so I can hereby confirm the validity of DHs claim: Ill be able to go from 26th of June and onwards.

Well sorry to say it... I can go, but not during spring...

Hep! Sounds like a nice idea and id really like to go smile

Only ´but´ for me would be the season. May and early june is out of the question for me due to work. So its juli and late june for me. But thats probably high season and will be more costly... Another option would be to find some smaller holiday, or an extended weekend or something...

Ok, some first impressions...

Something is actually happening... Which is quite a lot if we remember that this is Ryzom we are talking about... wink

- I notice some improvements to the interface, like tooltips and timers - so apparently the new owners do know how to work with the code... Nothing groundbreaking but many small handy improvements.

- Played three hours yesterday, encountered a character who was clearly a member of the event team - talking in character and generally acting out ok. Nothing groundbreaking here as well, but an ok effort.

- Tried some of the missions that are part of the ongoing event. There are many tough delivery missions requiring mounts or packers (one brings you full circle through all the areas of the lakelands...). For once a reason to actually make a packer or mount convoy and bring some escorts to protect it...

So what can I say? The game is still the same, but there are something happening...

Hello people smile

After a long, long break from online gaming I´ve decided to pay for a month of Ryzom, just to see whats going on.

The game is patching itself as I write this, so apparently something has been added or changed in the last year wink

Ill post my impressions in this thread. For now Id like to point your attention to these links:

Apparently all the lore and chronicles, as well as recent news on events etc. has been put together on this page known as ´the Official website for Ryzom RolePlay". That doesnt sound too bad...
http://atys.ryzom.com/

Then there is this piece of news, as well as an announcement on the forums, that a major event (lasting several weeks) is currently taking place in the game:

No... it is not a new pastry recipe (sorry Nuala)...

But I thought you should know that you can now become a fan of Den Gamle By museum on Facebook, write the guestbook, post your pictures etc. - we love to hear from our international guests smile (this includes people from the Insula Diavolo, Miho :demon:)
Just make a search for ´Den Gamle By´ from your facebook profile.

But please dont post any of those pictures where I gave you a tour of some of the ´backstage´ areas (the ones where we are trying the hats in the dressing room etc.) - that will just make the other guests envious . Besides we do like to keep the illusion that the city really is placed in another time. So no backstage.

Endgame sucks though...

Does it now? *brings out pocket book of philosophy* From what I hear from older players, there is a continuing adding of new content - which more than make up for the decline in some attributes. There is even the option of changing class at several stages. It is not possible to change to another race though - a single noteworthy player (of bard class) tried that once, but it was never quite succesful. :demon:

Ill agree with you on the PvP though

How was I to know that you have started playing x/7? wink

Besides there may be others, like me, who wasnt aware of that...

Since we arent playing 24/7 - far from it actually  - I thought we might need a thread to proclaiming future RP activity...

... I could start by saying that Ill be there to RP this sunday evening (oct. 5th). Hope to see you there big_smile

EDIT: And when I say evening, its the evening here in Europe Im referring too... Do we need a set time? Or is it ok, just to say evenish? (Nice word: evenish...)

[small][Im putting this little piece on Mercellus´ whereabouts here, since it takes place at the same time as we encounter Perun in the piece above... And because the title of the thread is very fitting as well ...][/small]

Dusk was settling in - if he should return to the house, now was the time. But then again, the clear sky and the lingering warmth in the air promised a beautiful night. How long had it been since he had spent a night in the open. No kitins sighted in these parts in weeks and his mount still fresh... He could go on a little further...

So joyful the stars, radiating with a playful golden glow like fireflies. This night were truly something to behold. This stream, this crossing... How long had it been since he had came this way from the exodus path? The stream was lazy and the crossing shallow... He could go on a little further...

The excitement of sneaking past the pack of sleeping ragus in the first rays of the morning sun. His mount tense and careful... The relief of leaving them behind after a brisk gallop. Old skills of surviving stirring. These tiny predators posed no threat to him. He could go on a little further...

Looking down on the barren hils baking in the midday sun. What might wait behind the horizon?

He could go on...

Apparently I too have people replying for me... But yeah, It might be that I could be persuaded to take a spin on Atys from time to time wink. Im a little bound up on RL obligations, but a poke is allways welcome - like my mobile waking me with its stirring in the middle of the night, due to DH sending a text message (at 4am in the morning)... But since it was about Ryzom it was ok wink

Happy Birthday!
