Yes, it's Stan. Here's the original screenshot.

Nope, I don't think it has anything in common with Beneath a Steel Sky, besides from being an adventure game, too. There, it should be obvious after this one.

Next one:

Hint: classic, well-known 90's adventure games. With a somewhat original fighting system.

Thanks. I seem to be getting good at this. Next hint will be more revealing, I hope.

Bump! I've managed to make Steam like Ryzom - which is a nice feature that allows to use Steam's own chat/IM feature while Ryzom is running full-screen. Could be nice for having a quick OOC exchange without alt-tabbing all the way to IRC or flooding the team channel. So yeah.

Here's the second part:

The first one was a bit scaled up, actually. This one is original size.
Hint: think 90's adventure games.

Healer-smacking healer? Tentacles? Awesome! Any trial?

I won, apparently. Oh well, here's my piece: who, or what, is it?

If no-one guesses from the first picture in a day, I'll reveal a different part and/or bigger part.

I play x/5 these days - weekends are given to other activities. Just poke me if you need me.

I could use a few to see how they work, maybe bring magic to 50.

It does indeed sound fun, and I was interested in WAR for some time. But right now, with the big RP polygon of Ryzom returning and finally being able to play TR for it's sheer fun pew-pew-pew laz0r action, I'm quite content with my MMOG's and don't really look for anything new.

I am still interested in how the RvR mechanics turned out to be. So far, I've only seen one game that did it right, and that, strangely enough, was a Korean free-to-play one.

So, please, as you keep playing, share your thoughts on it. Specifically, how soon you can join the fray and gain a few victories - do you need to grind for some level and equipment, or just go out swinging the moment you make your character? Who does your victory benefit - just you, your guild, or your whole side?

It's nice to see you all showing interest in Ryzom again. While we're comparing schedules, I'll be able to show up on weekdays, and pretty activley, too. And, when there's some RP starting, you can try poking me - I might come up.

Oh wait. I've gotten the link wrong. Here's the correct one.

This might be a nice opportunity to drop by for some old-fashioned Ryzom RP. There seems to be a lot of RP'ers in the Universe channel, so I doubt it would become boring soon.

Too bad I'll have to pass on it.

UPD: the link links to the correct thread now.

I'll have to pass this weeks StSC. Birthday with major drinking scheduled on the weekend, and I can't miss it.

Well, at least I was asked what the "other Seedlings" are going to do about Ryzom now, by different people most of which I didn't even recognize. And than again, no-one forbids you from making a new character.

Look for yourself! It's free now, too. At least for now. And I already met Jeziellia, although that might've been just a sap-induced hallucination.

Now, to remember how to do my accent!

Oh, one important thing - you must have an old account to play for the time being.

Any specifics about the time? I have something to do in the first half of the day, maybe till 1400 CEST. No collapsing this time, I promise.

Yes, I meant paid GM's. And seeing as GM's in an RP-centric game would not only see to it that the game stays cheater-less, everyone plays by the rules or at least the LA, and save players from nasty bugs, but also monitor RP quality and sometimes interfere with gameworld's reactions, as pen-and-paper GM's would, I don't really think it's possible to keep a contingent of fan-GM's without leaking a lot of valueable plot information to the playerbase, which is bad.

Actually, I thought more about 5000 as the playerbase, tops, and that'd be optimistic of me.
The big problem with an RP-centric game is a higher GM-to-player ratio. If, for example, a normal combat-centric MMOG requires a GM per every 500 subscriptions, an RP-centric one may require one per 100, or even more. The numbers are pretty much random here, I don't know the specifics.

If we start counting money and calculating a budget, I'm pretty sure we'll find that your standard 15 euro monthly susbcriptions just won't be able to keep the game going.

Those are just some semi-random thoughts, but the general idea is that it'd be, unfortunately, very tricky for an RP-centric MMOG to stay afloat on a standard economic model.

I, too, think that Seed can be viable commercially. There is a niche for an RP-centric game, and it is growing.
Also, note that even without hype (I was really lucky to stumble upon it when it was in Beta, and don't recall seeing any ads), Seed did have a lot of people interested in it, but leaving during the first weeks to wait for the game to become playable.
Of course, it would require a much more GM's per player than your average MMOG to keep the RP active, and won't be able to support a big playerbase, but that would be normal for any RP-centric game.

Looks a bit like a graphics tablet. Think Wacom.

Well, the game's still alive, although not as RP-full as I'd like it to be. But, it's been getting a lot of polish in the late patches, and GM's seem very friendly to whatever RP's left.

I still have a bunch of trial invitations available, if anyone wants to try it out.

Hello and welcome. Oh, you might try catching some of us in other, still living MMOG's. I'm afraid we weren't quite successful in finding a game that would have at least a part of Seed's RP potential, but we manage to get some great action when we do get together.

Update: turns out there'll be a Warhammer event tomorrow, I'd like to visit. I'll be able to play after 1500 CEST or maybe a bit later, no problem.
