wink

I'm leading the guild Bruckmann Trading Co on Burlok. Order side.

A couple of nights ago I commanded a warband that defended one keep against the destructicon zerg and, once the heretics gave up, we went on to take 5 BO's and 2 keeps, securing all there was to capture in Tier 2 for the Order side. smile

It is an awesome game. RvR is where heroes are born and glory earned.

As for the Marauder tentacle ability, I hear it really is great. Makes the Marauder bit of a late-bloomer class though, getting their best ability at the last rank. But everyone gets something amazing at the top ranks. My WP gets a silence at 35 and AoE knockback at 40, which will both help me with my favourite combat feat, routing the enemy healers. Have turned many big battles with that already. I'm the healer-smacking healer.

Got jumped by a random lvl 80 DT in Keshatta when I was lvl 72. That means I was grey to him. I circle strafed for about 5-10 minutes around him, lolzoring in tells and asking where he bought his account, with my health bar securely above 90%. So at least an unskilled DT is pretty useless in PvP. (the DT was called Ivsu, unguilded)

That has to do with me being guardian, though.

Like yesterday morning, I got level 74 and was standing next to a guestgiver, the Villa Verde one in Noble Distric, placing my feat point when a lvl 80 barbie unstealths behind me and starts wailing on me. I took some damage, with his stuns and all, but didn't go below 75% health. Then I whapped a kb on him, and didn't attack more, making it obvious I wasn't at all concerned about his ability to hurt me. He was giving up and backing away, and once there was a bit of distance, he stops and looks at me in disbelief. Well, I switch to frenzy stance (always have def stance on when not fighting to avoid gank), stun charge him, lay a few combos on him, even switch to polearm for second kb and some more dps, and his health bar sinks below 25% within 10 seconds. He ran for his life and stealthed away. (the barbie was Zubba from Captain Morgan's Society)

So, yeah, even with all it's flaws, I'm pretty happy about my class these days. Leveling up helps, since you can patch the weaknesses of your class nicely with feats. I've been loving PvE and PvP a whole lot harder since I got my stun feat, for example.

Sounds an interesting Guild Mir! At least you're having fun.

This video amused me smile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-rl3RPC_Mw

Don't tell me this ability has been nerfed?!

Yes, it was nerferd. That ability will cost you 100 gold now. At level 69 I have like, 4 gold, and have spent only about another 4, so it'll probably take months before you see anyone do that again.

We sure are getting tweaked....closer toward WoW prot warriors with zero dps every patch. Except now they took invulnerabilities out of PvP too, so we're doubly screwed.

And did you notice how they took away all our mounted combat maneuvers from basic riding training? It's nerf nerf nerf nerf -> crap, the way things are going imo.

But the RP is still might sweet, isn't it? smile

Did I mention I love my guidies and they love me? It is beautiful. Level 65 now! smile

Also, lvl 63, you mangy nubs! Who wants to be ganked! I can still out-dps lvl 30 healing pots at least, even after the nerf.

Oh, and did I mention all the c6 you'll be swimming in? The wenches pwn, even those who don't take coin. Have at them!

Aquilonia server is fricking RP heaven for me right now, and we have the whore guild (Dark Desires), and I'm in a super awesome hardcore RP guild so I won't be changing, no matter how much ganking goes on, which is not much for me at the moment. Add me to your friend list (Frehiard) when you have the chance, and post your ingame name here so I can add you too. Will hook you up with some of my sexy guildies! My guild name is Aetherity, so if you see that tag you can assume they'll respond IC if you say something IC. Other good RP guilds I know of are the Dark Desires, Northwind Free Company, The Enclave, Sons of Camulus and Heirs of Ascension, just off the top of my head. Have fun, and if you're Necro, Demo, DT or Guardian, reroll while you're still low lvl!

More pictures added. None of full plate yet.

Acting Captain's Log

Stardate: 20080419.2245

Commander Jason Ikas commanding USS Endeavour.

We arrived at the planet Kuu for our scheduled survival training last evening and began it this morning. All was proceeding well, until a sudden electromagnetic field of unknown origin disrupted potential communication with the Endeavour. Fearing for the safety of all involved, I aborted the training mission and we all returned to the ship. Upon returning, we determined that the planet itself had emitted the field at several points on its surface. Why, we have been unable to determine. We will do what studies we can, but a full science expedition should be mounted in order to more thoroughly investigate the phenomena on Kuu.

A note to Starfleet Cartography: Recommend that Kuu be marked as hazardous and that civilian ships be advised to avoid the planet.
A note to Starfleet Operations: Recommend that Kuu not be used for survival training purposes in future, due to potential for loss of communications, severe seismic disturbances and unpredictable and severe weather patterns. These factors combine to make the probability of loss of life in a training exercise on the planet to be quite high.
A Note to Starfleet Cartography: Recommend that Kuu be marked as hazardous and that civilian ships be advised to avoid the planet. Also recommend that Kuu's planetary class be reviewed with an eye for changing it to class Q (variable), due to recent drastic changes in the ecosystem.

That means we're going to continue the plot later. And I got 2 noms, too! I'm like ultra RPer even on a night like this.

I had fun, which is the most important thing.

It went from a 7-person clusterfuck to afk-waiting and back, and we just barely managed to get the plot started. It takes way longer than I remembered.

What you can do beforehand is type up a small description of what your character looks like. You'll get a description of your uniform ingame, so don't bother with that, but everything else, like, the head and shape, you can do.

Connect to holotrek.org:1701 with your preferred client at 5 PM BST.

Here's the URL for a nice, easy client: http://www.gammon.com.au/mushclient/

Then type "connect guest" and "newbie What do I do now?" to talk on the newbie channel and stand by to receive instructions.

Also, would be cool if people could write up what their character looks like, beforehand, so the descing in chargen would go faster. If you think it'll take you a while to think up a name, you can do that now too.

Useful Holotrek stuff, part 1, emoting:
Most poses you will make are going to be emotes, typically about 4 lines long, though there is no minimum or maximum. Ning in particular wanted to let you know that she doesn't care if you all do one-liners all the time, so just go with what you feel comfortable with.

Full column (:, or @emote) is the command that works like /me on IRC. I was to write ":slaps darki around a bit with a large trout" the output would read "Lieutenant Mir slaps darki around a bit with a large trout".

@emit will let you write the whole output yourself, without even putting your title in the beginning. That way, "@emit the tomatoes in the room smell tasty" would output "The tomatoes in the room smell tasty."

Say is the command for saying stuff, it is the most limited and quick way to say stuff. "say I like this" would output "Lieutenant Mir says, 'I like this'". This is most useful in hectic situations, like ship combat, rarely used otherwise.

All in all, a typical scene will go like this:
One person is already in a room. Another one arrives. 1st person writes a pose that describes what is going on in the room, without reacting to the arrival. 2nd person reads the pose, sees what is going on and joins in. They tend to take turns from there, but that's not fixed either, just go with what you feel is right. The key to posting quick, long poses is starting to write them as soon as your previous one is sent. Start with generic stuff, then just add reactions and such once the other player has sent their pose and you can read it. This way you don't have to wait, either, but can be typing all the time.

"Cardassian fleet attacks Deep Space Nine. Bajoran wormhole reopened. Deep Space Nine and Federation, Klingon, and Romulan starships exiled to unknown territories!" is from 2006-2007, that plot has been resolved and Klingons are at war with the Cardassians as a result now. The Federation has placed an embargo on the Klingons, as the Cardassian military is all but ruined already and the Federation cannot participate in a war that might cause the enslavement or destruction of an independent people.
