The IRC server is now open for beta testing.
The temporary address is irc.mkc.fr, the port is 6667. Channels #seed and #idlerpg.

added !beer, !oil and !topten to Chimbot
fixed a few things, thanks to all who already joined the server :D

of course, I just wanted to take the lead tongue
:demon:

edit: what did the !topten command do exactly? was it idlerpg's top10, or channel stats?
atm, Chimbot is not really useful, it just sits there wink

hehe wink
The url is coming, but I didn't want people to connect while I was testing the server, and think it's unstable.

If I have the time, the server will be available with a temporary url tonight. Might do a beta test just before it goes live.

Chimbot is up and running

GSRPG website is back online, and their idlerpg bot looks like it's more advanced (might have been the one used on irc.seedthegame.com).

I'll install it tonight if I have the time, as it needs postgresql to work.

edit: GSRPG installed and running

The server is running, using ircd-hybrid + hybserv.

I am testing IdleRPG, using the IdleRPG code base. If you know/want to use another code base, just tell me wink

As for chimbot, maybe an eggdrop?

We're not supposed to vote yet tongue. Or are we?

However, I would vote for seedthecommunity.org or scatteredseeds.any, don't know yet.

ScatteredSeeds.org would be an other option

I like this name, but I didn't suggest it because it's unavailable in the .org tld.

The following domains are unavailable:
scatteredseeds.info
scatteredseeds.org
scatteredseeds.com

he he thanks wink I understood desert as in empty.

Nuclear Desert/Wasteland, then!

We can host almost anything, provided in runs on a GNU/Linux server smile so yes, no problem for e107.

And yes, you can have an idlerpg wink I never setup an IRC server before, so I will see what I can do. I might need some help if anybody knows how that works.
Right now, I'm considering installing Unreal IRCd.

Well, as I said before, I can provide a free domain name, and hosting. It would be on a dedicated server I manage.
It's on a 100mbps link, unlimited traffic.
The server is located in France.
Disk space should not be an issue (around 15 Gb free atm).
IRC server possible.

and Ahnion this is a good design you made, I'm looking forward to see it on our forums.

PlaneShift - http://www.planeshift.it Open Source MMORPG, managed by a non profit organization. Still in development, but worth checking out.

There are some indications that island newcomers are stray refugees that didn't make it to the rainbows in time. This makes -some- kind of sense, but it's definitely not entirely established as far as I can see.

From what I understand, that's what the lore says. Our parents or grand-parents couldn't make it to the Prime Roots, and thus lived the life of refugees, scattered in the old lands, living nomadic lives, in fear of the kitin finding them.
Somehow, we were called by our people, the ones who made it on the rainbows, and who get out of them 40 years ago, to help them rebuild our society.

Now that's what the lore says.

There is no real explanation to why we all stopped on this exact island. Must be because the Silan island was added recently. So I guessed that after a long and perilous journey, we take a little rest stop on the island, before continuing our journey to the capital of our tribe.
The fact that it is an island is problematic... Is it an island surrounded by water? in that case, were we travelling by boat? Where we all brung here by a tempest?
Personally, I would prefer to refer to the island as a refugee camp, located on the road from the old lands, to where the new civilizations are raising. Maybe in a valley between two close mountains, so we would all have to pass here on our way.
Anyway, that's the most logical explanation that I can see to the presence of the four tribes in the same place.

I suppose that this would require a windows server, that would need to run Ryzom? Or is there some kind of dedicated server that would run on Linux?

edit: I just read that Nevrax will host R2 adventures for a additional fee (4.95€/month). I didn't read that on Ryzom's official site, though...

just wanted to add that if we need to buy a domain name, I can have some for free (came with a server I'm renting, but can be used independently).
