This does raise some interesting questions...

Do Female Homins give birth? In that case a nine month pregnancy would be resolved in 13.5 days

And what about a regular IC conversation... sometimes they last for several realtime hours... does that mean our characters have talked and talked for days...

And do we know anything of Homin aging... or when they are considered grownups?

I imagine Merculles is quite young... equivalent of a 16 or 17 year old human... That would be approximately 5 Jena Years - right? The difference would be quite important if you walk around introducing yourself as a five year old...

So we have left Silan...
We have arrived on the mainland...
We have indeed become scattered seeds... (I personally find it hard to achieve ´critical mass´ of roleplayers... I dont play that often, and when I do Im lucky if more than one RP´er is online)

So I was wondering - how is everybody doing? Are you enjoying the game? Is it still the grand, masterplan to eventually form a guild in Zora?

It has been great to read the travel notes of Perun and Tinai. Gives an impression of where you are in the game and what you have been doing. And that sense of community is very nice, and very important, because we have become so scattered.

So please - everybody who feel like telling - please give us an update - tell a story - where on Atys have you gone?

---

I have a story to tell as well... but it is still to early for that wink Lets just say, for now, that the young Mercellus has finally arrived in Fairhaven after regaining his strength in Silan. Now he is looking for the Capricious cousins (Wheri and Tinai). He has met someone else though...

If that is your view on roleplaying an elephant I really suggest you try playing the pen and paper scenario "Samsara" by Jacob Schmith Madsen (yes, he was a co-writer on Seed). In this scenario the roles change every scene - except the main character Purusha which rotates among the players (yes, Purusha was Jacobs screen name on the Seed forums). So, some of the, very interesting, roles you are going to play includes a snake, hyena, tiger, monkey and the white (but depressed) elephant of the god Indra. And that elephant is quite fun to RP I can assure you! The scenario is in danish however... but you can find it here http://rlyeh.trc.dk/pub/scenarier/scenarie.php3?id=71

I can recommend it as the basis for my best RP experience - ever!

I can buy the idea, that your skills in magic could affect your aptitude for ´sending´ images, emotions or thoughts to another homin. But when it comes to Darkhawks scale I think we should see it, not as actual rules - more like guidelines (to quote from Pirates...;)).

Besides other factors could have an influence as well: how close you are to the person you communicate with, your state of mind, how strongly you feel that which you try to send etc.
As long as it doesnt limit the roleplay its ok with me.

And I must say that I really like the idea that you can send various tidbits of feelings, impressions etc. to another character. It opens up a lot of possibilities for the RP.

Finally ill say, that it is my impression, that every member of this community is able to use this feature responsibly - without it evolving into walkietalkie-OOC- lets-take-down-this-überboss kinda thing...

Its gonna be fun!

Well - in the end I couldnt help trying out Ryzom after all...

So Im making my way around Atys as a quite young Tryker named Mercellus

(and thanks to Tinai and Shula for letting me sleep through your conversation...)

Well, as for me I´ve decided not to join you in Ryzom. I have only limited time to play each week. The skill system in SEED, and the relatively small world made it possible to drop by and enjoy some good roleplay. From what I´ve seen and heard of Ryzom thats not gonna be possible for me there.

Its not that I got scared from seing that South Park episode ;-) but I simply dont have the time to play each week, that Ryzom requires to be fun...
