So you'd skip the possibility of making our own gameworld because the basic campaign isn't to your liking? Sounds a bit... counterproductive, no?

NWN2's basic campaign will no doubt be a nice action-fantasy romp. That's what most people want, so that's how they make the game. I didn't buy NWN for the official campaign, though. I bought it because of the immense possibilities of custom content and modules.

If you don't like the game world, consider it buying the means to run our own gameworld... but don't buy it yet if that's all you're looking for. I don't know what the practical possibilities of persistent worlds are in NWN2 yet. That is still to be seen. Personally, I want to play the game and the custom modules that are guaranteed to follow its release, though.

Controls and graphics are likely to be like NWN only updated, basically, so that bit is more or less given. If you liked NWN, you're likely to like (like!) NWN2.

Heh... yes... I also hope the parser is smart enough that the whole damned game doesn't choke if you use too many variables, like it did in the original.

Kryigerof: No, I don't think so... or rather, it's guaranteed to be possible, but it would involve database surgery, methinks.

Anyway, this isn't exactly biochemistry. We just need to get an overview of what we should focus on... and the results are pretty clear. smile

According to sources, one year on Atys corresponds to two real-world months. I think the days, in theory, are perceptively as long to Atysians as our Earth days are to us. The latter is just an impression, of course.

Oluf: Yep, but if we've got enough people interested in this, I intend to keep up-to-date with the community.

For those who want to know more about the NWN community and the modifications of NWN, http://nwvault.ign.com/ is a great place to look.

So here we are - the vote for our domain name. It's a bit later than planned, but that just means you've had some time to think about it!

See http://imperial-guard.dk/seed/viewtopic.php?id=59 for the discussion.

...is out on the 31st.

Who's up for headbashing around a persistent world concept and testing out the toolset in early November? I just preordered the game.

I have some experience with the Aurora (NWN1) toolset and I have some pretty hefty ideas for a game world concept that's rather far from the clichés of the Forgotten Realms. At least one talented scripter and some game builders would be necessary. I can script, but I'm not very good at it. We should probably define the builder team so that the people outside it don't have to learn all the juicy secrets of the world. wink

Who's with me?

No, it's not the size. It's the URL that doesn't link directly to the image, but to Imageshacks' "viewer" page. Though, given, posting huge images to a forum tends to be one of the less appreciated habits. wink

All right... I don't have any inspiration, so I'll go with actor and movie.
