I find that very disturbing.
I was once on the toilet with Mecha (no we didn't make out, although i think he felt me up once or twice), while talking to Sigridz on the phone......

If indeed Mecha managed to both take a leak, while mumbling incoherently in his absolutely knackered state and at the same time posing as Sigridz on the phone with me, he is not only schizophrenic - he is a schizophrenic, multitasking GOD!!

Cheers

What - UglyNakedGuyInSteambath is not an appropriate attire for the gathering?? Well, so much for my plans....

Sammy and Gabby (RGD) might be joining us as well. Nothing 100% confirmed though.

I'll probably be there 6ish. We're having the inlaws for coffee and bisquits in the afternoon, so don't hold your breath if it turns 7 before i show up though. Will most likely be easily identifyable, by wearing an official Seed E3 tee wink

Mecha : I'm trying to  shake up Thomas and Sammy as well. Might have to hear with Gabby and Rasmus (and possibly those in the capitol-area too). But it's getting close.....

Good article - nice mention.

I'm on Volbeat's new album "Rock the rebel, metal the devil" these days. Pretty original style, and Michael's vocals are so much better as rock'n roll than it was in Dominus (volbeats predecessor) back when they were a death metal band.

Good stuff....

I'm in for the buffet.
I assume you can change the number of orders up untill a week in advance?
You might want to send out a heads up say two weeks in advance, just to make sure everyone is still in.

NiN is coming out with a new album soon. I have three "leaks" at work, that i intend to listen to today.
It's the freakiest thing. There's a theory, that NiN is doing some kind of odd underground promotion, to generate a hype.
Whenever they've played a gig, they "loose" a USB key with a track from the new album in the restroom of the club they're playing.
But there's also other stuff on the USB key. Odd images, and various conspiracy theories..... very strange.

I'm looking forward to the new album...... (and the three leaks I'm gonna hear in a few hours)...

We can still be at Waxies if we're less. We just won't get a private room. And around 21-22ish the place will fill up with other guests as well. But it's a cozy place with good atmosphere and normal prices.
I might still be able to get access to more private areas, but I do need to know when it is and how many we are, if I should have any chance of setting this up.

I think that many more RGD'ers would attend. In fact i think it'll be easy for me tu pursuade the entire graphics department to attend. If so, that'll be me, Jan, Sammy, Thomas and Gabriel. Not sure about Anders and Kristian, since they moved back to CPH. Might even get Rasmus to com - if he can get a hall pass wink

I also think Anne and Kroll will join, and most likely also Mecha. Maybe even Sigrid, since she skipped the last few gatherings?

My brother's girlfriend is the manager of a bar, that several of the former RGD crew frequents.
In order to do make some reservations, I need to know in due time how many will attempt.
We can get a full floor to ourselves, with it's own bar and a bartender IF we're 30 people minimum.

So let me know.

Oh yeah - it's in Århus of course.

And as promised, the reply from Kroll :

I have attempted, on behalf of the creditors of Runestone, to sell the Seed IP since just after launch. This was an attempt that had to be made, to try to recoup some of the investment. Unfortunately, there was no game companies that wished to bid on it, so the attempt to sell the IP to a third party has failed.

What this means, is that the IP is now fully owned by our largest investors. It is highly unlikely that they want or are able to, relaunch and complete the game. It is also highly unlikely that they are able to sell it to someone who can.

I know this is not the news you hoped for: It would have been a better fate for Seed to be bought by some third party interested in relaunching the game, but this was unfortunately not the way things played out. Short of several medium sized miracles, the Seed IP is mothballed.

All the best
Kroll

It has not been sold yet as far as i know. I have emailed kroll, and asked him to answer on the RGD forum, and hopefully shed some light on this case finally.
Most of us have moved on to new jobs, and we all consider Seed to be dead. Unfortunately. And with every day the, whatever slim, chances there might be of ressurecting Seed, gets smaller and smaller.
Seed has not been in development for almost half a year now, and that is a lot of time to loose on the gaming market.

I don't mean to break your spirits, but it'd take a miracle or divine intervention to get Seed according to the RGD vision up and running again. The banckuptcy is final, the company dissolved, the physical assets sold, and another company has moved into the office.

I'll post Kroll's answer in here, if he gives one.

I have a TON of Seed in-game videos that we grabbed during the last period at Runestone (and a big thanx to Ric for Xvid'ing them).
They´ll be put online once i get a chance to make them a bit more wb-friendly size, and when i re-launch my website.

- love the soundtrack btw, Sekra wink

No - it is pretty fast. And considering the game data, even more so, and the compression is amazing.
I think there's way past 50k polys in this game, and quite a few textures too.
The 3D, animation data and textures are only 2.2Mb or so. Then there's a few hundred Kb's of sound and some scripts.
Very impressive.

However - it is hardly a game engine as it is now. Too much functionality is missing, but it might come.

Been working on a little christmas game for a company called TurnTool.
They make a web 3D engine (www.turntool.com) - and it is quite safe, and quite good.

Me and Johannes (scripter) has put together this years christmas card - go give it a spin :

http://www.turntool.com/tnt/xmas2006/

Some info : It's about 3Mb game data, and ½Mb for the browser plugin, which currently only supports Internet Explorer and Firefox on windows. Firefox may prompt you to stop or continue a script, so please press continue, or the game data might not initialize. Flash is also required to play the sound.
When you get to the loader screen (with the throbbing package......ew) be patient. The level layout is being (randomly) generated, and 80% of the items are being placed (somewhat randomly too).
So it should be a bit different each time you play it, within some limits of course.

Arrows = Movement
Space = Jump

Read the intro please, and here's a little tip : Don't drink'n sleigh - but if you do get drunk, just have another and the controls will be back to normal again...... thats drunk logic for you smile

Have fun.

Finally. It was that darned blurry prop that caused the hold up. Proper motion blur in 3D is so damn hard. I had to wing it (no pun intended) in Photoshop...

So, without further ado : Manfred von Richthofen - a.k.a. the Red Baron in his red Fokker triplane

Oluf : Depends. Some are worse than others. Main problem is all the compositing i do in Photoshop - I'd have to redo that...
Might do it for some if i wanted to print them....

- new image is stalling a bit. Waiting for some annoyingly slow motion blur to render.....

I have another one coming up, hopefully later today.
At some point, i'll also do a conversion of a lot of my works, targetted to various mobile phones, and put them up for download. I probably can't offer a download-from-mobile service like Jamba and the likes, but you should be able to fetch it from your phone, if it has internet.
I just did a 240x320 cut-down of the PanzerKugel for my own mobile, and it looks effin sweet on that screen.
- but that's a bit in the future still...

So - what resolution does your mobile(s) use (WxH in pixels)? Just so that i have some stats. My own Nokia 6280 does 240x320.

The new image is a trip back to the war theme.
- stay tuned big_smile
