Topic: Favourite web comics?

ok, I thought it was time to spread some reading material.

My all-time favourite is still OOTS (Order of the Stick):

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html

And thanks to Norah for introducing me to Ctrl+Alt+Del back on the old IRC:

http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php

Roll on the recommendations!

Re: Favourite web comics?

I love both of yours, Esme! And:

http://www.thenoobcomic.com/
http://www.penny-arcade.com/
http://pvponline.com/

Ands some others but these I love best, I think.

SWG: CL90 Smuggler, Crimson Phoenix Ace, CL90 Engineer, Europe-Chimaera
AoC: L70 Guardian

Re: Favourite web comics?

OOTS's the best! I also like those:
Elf Only Inn - after two years of inactivity, it started updating this September. I liked the old fantasy chat room theme a lot more, though.
Sinfest - not gaming-related, but still pretty fun.
Concerned - Half-life 2 parody, now finished.

RP in MMOG's looks like this when trying to base it on in-game activities:
"Let's go <activity>!"
"Yay, <activity>!"
"<motivation>!"

Re: Favourite web comics?

I read/have read way too many webcomics to make a proper favorites list. All-time favorite though is Questionable Content, which I picked up over the summer and read the archives of three times in one month.

So, instead of that, here's my daily list for you to peruse.

http://www.lfgcomic.com/
http://nuklearpower.com/index.php
http://www.okaypants.com/comic.php
http://overcompensating.com/
Penny Aracde should be here, but it's just such a no-brainer. Read it for Jerry's newsposts if you aren't already.

http://www.scarygoround.com/
http://www.schlockmercenary.com/
http://www.sheldoncomics.com/

http://www.sluggy.com/
http://www.drmcninja.com/
http://www.thenoobcomic.com/
http://www.wapsisquare.com/
http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/

Edit: EOI used to be really enjoyable, but I stopped caring when it went inactive and just can't will myself to pick it up again. Concerned was also great, but it's finished as of last month or so.

There are comics that I drop whenever I format and lose my bookmarks. Some of the dropped ones that I still remember if you want to check them out are Mac Hall, Ugly Hill, Belphegor, and Fractured Service.

Re: Favourite web comics?

Wow! Somebody who likes Deegan humour! I don't really like that comic's plot and drawing style, and that pretty much keeps me from reading it. Great humour, though.

"Let's go <activity>!"
"Yay, <activity>!"
"<motivation>!"

Re: Favourite web comics?

As ordered in my bookmarks list:

User Friendly - Should need no introduction.
Ozy & Millie - Wonderful, off-beat and often intelligent humour.
I Drew This - Political comic by the author of O&M.
Ballard Street - Insane. Indispensable.
Get Fuzzy - Insanity - with pets.
Questionable Content - Snarky indie comic. Highly amusing.
xkcd - Musings of an emotional physics graduate.

Re: Favourite web comics?

Attack of the Show gave this comic a link the other night and it's pretty good, especially for the DnD players.

Enjoy.

Re: Favourite web comics?

Hah, I was just pointed towards dominic-deegan, but I see it was on Sandlings list already. That comic is EVIL.. Huge backlog. Has destroyed one whole day for me wink

Re: Favourite web comics?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you want to see an evil backlog, try reading all of Sluggy Freelance. Ten years of archives, and some of the most convoluted plot lines ever created. Have fun wink

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q125/coarsesand/graffisigtransparent.png

Re: Favourite web comics?

The backlog is actually easier reading than the daily comics, I found- the plots are so convoluted in some cases that I have trouble remembering all the details from day to day.

And although it hasn't been going QUITE as long, Schlock Mercenary is in the same league for backlogs. Though both are well worth the effort.

Re: Favourite web comics?

Here's another one that wasn't linked yet:

http://pbfcomics.com/

I've read it for some years, it's slow, but there are some great gems amongst it, though it takes some time for the brain to understand what's happening now and then wink

Re: Favourite web comics?

Actually, the weekly local alternative rag here in Ottawa prints PBF. It's the only comic in it.
