The logo looks that way because it was designed after a short story by J.D. Salinger called The Laughing Man which focuses on a minor league baseball team. Thus, the baseball cap.

Oh dammit. I was actually going to just let Frakel do it since I've never even seen Ghost in the Shell.
I do have an idea though, so let's go ahead.
If you can get all these, you know your stuff.
1. What am I playing?
2. What am I flying?
3. What is powering its flight?
4. What am I flying above?
5. What is the island known for being populated with?
6. Which two characters are in the house on the island?
4 & 5 are basically identical questions. Anyways, since I doubt most will be able to get anywhere with just my screenshot, it is arguably the RPGiest of RPGs, and all started on the SNES.
On that note, 7. What am I actually playing it on?

Well, I know the answer to some if that. But I'm too lazy to do all the research involved, so I'll just start out here, letting others build on what I know.
1. You're playing Final Fantasy. The one with the meteor striking the land. Yeah, it's been a while to put it mildly. Not sure, but my guess would be it is Final Fantasy V
2. It's an airship
3. Something I can't remember.
4. Oh come on, that would take a really incredible memory! 
5. Uggablah.
6. Uh huh..
EDIT:
Actually, come to think of it, this looks more like a castle than an airship.. and airships are in each Final Fantasy, so not even sure about that. Still looks an awful lot like a Final Fantasy game though. Memory is not the strongest side of old fossils.

1. It's an old-school Japanese RPG for sure, but it isn't Final Fantasy.
2. Not a castle, a bit smaller
3. You wouldn't forget this.
4. Not if you know where it is, because it's completely out of the way and doesn't involve the story in any way.
5. Same thing as 4.

7. Man, you didn't even try to answer this.
Please try again. The company that made it is still alive and kicking. It isn't Squenix, and it isn't Konami, so try another Japanese company.

Right, got wrapped up in Golden Sun, forgot to post a hint.
The series consists of two SNES games, two PS1 games, and one on the PS2. None of the games are sequels to each other except for nearly identical gameplay (not counting the PS2 game, that went off on in a completely different direction).

Okay, I think I owe three or so hints on this.
1. The company is well known for its undead games. (*COUGH*PARASOL*COUGH*)
2. The infamous Paul Anderson made those undead games into a pair of movies, the third one is coming out soon (Seriously, if you don't get this...)
3. If/when the name of this game is discovered, most of the questions can be answered by looking at an FAQ for it at GameFAQs.
