beta is still closed i believe?
Anyway...i fear the worst. They claim to have an awesome combat system but a guy i know who is in beta says its not really that original.
One thing is for sure, I need to try a trial or late open beta before i go out and buy it.

They all claim to have awesome and totally unique battle systems, but really there's never anything that feels like significant difference

I was once interested in Age of Conan but dumped it sometime during its development for a reason that I forgot, but which must have been good if I completely stopped following every aspect of it.

The battle system is different. It's based on movement more than key combos, which actually makes it rather daunting for me, but I'm still interested in the game.

Regardless of the Mir spam rampage i went and bought it yesterday.
The new fighting system feels refreshing compared to those from wow, gw, etc...
It's still more or less point and click, but the fact that the direction you slash at makes fighting a bit more fun and more involving than going through the 1-5 hotkey sequence.
I rolled a char on a RP-PVP server, but i think i'll move to a RP-PVE one, not sure though.
Still have to experience any rp, but i just started yesterday evening. Patching took me 1,5 hours, so I hqven't play that much yet.
WoW could also learn a thing or two from the character creation. In AOC you at least can choose to be fat or skinny.
That's about it for my straight out of the box exoerience.

Aquilonia server is fricking RP heaven for me right now, and we have the whore guild (Dark Desires), and I'm in a super awesome hardcore RP guild so I won't be changing, no matter how much ganking goes on, which is not much for me at the moment. Add me to your friend list (Frehiard) when you have the chance, and post your ingame name here so I can add you too. Will hook you up with some of my sexy guildies! My guild name is Aetherity, so if you see that tag you can assume they'll respond IC if you say something IC. Other good RP guilds I know of are the Dark Desires, Northwind Free Company, The Enclave, Sons of Camulus and Heirs of Ascension, just off the top of my head. Have fun, and if you're Necro, Demo, DT or Guardian, reroll while you're still low lvl!

Mir did you ever realise that the classes as they are will be tweaked frequently?
I'm going to stick with my DT as i'm getting the hang of it and nothing sais that other classes will remain as they are.
I'm currently applying with the skullsplitters.
Only thing i don't quite get is PVP kill counter. When you are in a group and get attacked and you are able to kill the attacker. Shouldn't I get at least one kill or is it given to the member of the group that struck first?

We sure are getting tweaked....closer toward WoW prot warriors with zero dps every patch. Except now they took invulnerabilities out of PvP too, so we're doubly screwed.
And did you notice how they took away all our mounted combat maneuvers from basic riding training? It's nerf nerf nerf nerf -> crap, the way things are going imo.
But the RP is still might sweet, isn't it?

Yes, it was nerferd. That ability will cost you 100 gold now. At level 69 I have like, 4 gold, and have spent only about another 4, so it'll probably take months before you see anyone do that again.
