Another RP event comming up!

Exact time is not yet confirmed - but until further notice Im hoping on running this event
thursday 29th of march (this week), at 10.30pm GMT (that would be half hour before midnight here in Denmark).

Meeting place will be the upper floor of Frogmore Place in Fairhaven.

Teaser:
Drakfot the poet has been ill for some time... She is plagued by memory lapses and painfull coughing fits - all following a traumatic experience.

Her condition has seriously deteriorated, but a hope lies with a healer in the heart of the Zoraï jungles. The journey is not without dangers however, and once there she will need the help of her friends and supportive homins to save the soul of a poet.

I assume you can change the number of orders up untill a week in advance?

I can

You might want to send out a heads up say two weeks in advance, just to make sure everyone is still in.

I will

Our reservation at Café Smagløs for may 5th is in order - wee!
The café have an internet RedSpot for a possible webcam setup - wee!

They have asked us what we would like to eat. We have two options here.

1) A buffet for everybody (160 kr a person) with chicken, fish, salads, humus, bread, etc.

or

2) Everybody makes their pick from the menu and place their orders with me at least a week in advance, so the café get a chance to prepare.

Obviously I hope you will all choose option 1 wink That will make it much easier for me...

IMPORTANT!
By voting in this thread I take it as agreement that you will show up for the SEED meeting. I would hate to order buffet for twenty people and find out only ten show up...

Thursday 26th of april will be the deadline for placing your order here!

"The Ryzom community is extremely roleplay friendly - try talking in character and almost anyone you meet will happily return the favour and talk back in character (completely different to my experiences elsewhere, where abuse and derision seemed almost de rigeur). Roleplaying is mostly pretty loose and casual, and this all makes it easy for someone to find their feet and I felt the same as you when I arrived here; new and uncertain. There are a few very sound guilds that make much more of it and if you're a zoraï going to Zora then you might like to look out for Seeds of Atys, for example."

Belated cheers from me as well!
Happy birthday Nuala!

OK people - time to make a decicion here. When should the Seed meeting be?
Århus seems to be the place - when will be the time?

May 5th seems to be the date most fortunate for most people so far - with the option to extend your individual stay in Århus to friday and sunday off course smile. But is this the date we decide upon, or are we deciding for the next weekend (or some other date) instead?

Well, there havent been an ´official decision´ for anything - I just sensed that there were a konvergence upon may 5th as the best date. So its still open I guess... its just that we have to decide before too long.

- EDIT:

Since no general cries of utter rejection of the 5th of may has been heard I have now added that date to our calendar as the date for the official SEED 2007 annual meeting smile

So far only ´official´ point on the programme is to meet at Cafe smagløs (www.smagloes.dk) at 6 pm. If anyone has more suggestions as to what we might spend some time on during this weekend lets hear it!

- EDIT 2: Added friday 4th as the time for the ´small - party´, as suggested by Nuala earlier here

Sounds like I should call Smagløs then and make a reservation for the 5th of may. At what time should we meet there saturday? I was thinking around 6 pm. Then we will have plenty of time to talk and dine - and those who feel for it can venture out into the crazy, wild nightlife of Århus afterwards wink

Correct. It is indeed an astrolabe of North African origin - thus the arabic markings.

Having placed it in an arabic/islamic context around AD 1000 - 1500  would have sufficed smile

Your turn again it seems.

1. Correct.

2. Correct.

3. Incorrect - I asked for the approximate place and period of origin for this specimen.
(let me see you find that in the wikipedia smile - HINT: those letters on the dial are neither greek nor latin...)

So I guess the competition is open for all again, the first one to answer the 3rd question correctly is the winner :demon:

Yes, yes DH... Ill tell them...

If we are less than 25 we can get our own floor on Café Smagløs in Århus free of charge. This is a place where we can get something to eat and drink at normal prices - and sit, talk, mingle etc. There is no dancefloor... The place is very cosy. Waxies would be nice also - it is larger, has more to offer. But if we cant get some place for ourselves there, I think we should go for the café. We are there to meet and talk with each other after all.

What can I say... Ive only tried SEED and Ryzom, both of which had open skill systems, and no classes as such.

As for PnP Ive had my best experience with the Ars Magica system. It reflects well on a medieval setting - no matter how much fantasy you choose to pour into it. There are not classes as such, but every character must have a ´social status´ virtue or flaw. Some skills and abilities are not generally available. A social class may enable these - for instance litteracy skills being enabled by high social status or belonging to clergy. But other virtues may enable these skill as well. So if your true desire is to play a washerwoman who happens to have some academic training it is possible from the point of rule mechanics... having to justify it storywise is another matter then... smile
