PvP in AoC is limited to some parts of the gameworld only - the skills are sperate from your "normal" skills as well.

Nosyd it wasnt meant like that i think...of cuase you shoudl post your suggestions big_smile

Personally i dont mind that threads go slightly off topic from the original post - as long as the discussion is good and mature there is nothing wrong with going off topic imo.

The game I suggested, Age of Cona, is also quite PvP heavy. Just like darkhawk I dont mind PvP if there is a meaning too it.

Hehe smile

I dont know if it can be made so you only view the sigs once per thread?
There is an option under profile -> Display where you can disable *all* sigs (and images in the sigs)

After a brief talk on IRC on the size of the images we use in our sigs we have agreed on the following format:

360x80

The reason for choosing this:
1) bandwidth
2) messing up the forum threads, to big sigs would the design.
3) If the sigs are to "tall" you have to scoll a lot to read the posts.

My own suggestion is to make the image sigs as small as you can.
I havent been able to find a setting in the admin pannel that automaticly puts in these limits so we have to check the size of the images ourselves.

If you dont agree with the choice remmeber to let us all know! smile

I turned it on.

If anyone thinks that its a really bad idea remember to let us all know!

I am not sure if the board allows us to set a limit on the size of the picture, so for now please just try not to make things to big (300x100 as max?)

Oh good stuff... I only understand around 50% of what you said but a good read anyway wink

you should consider posting this over at the runestone forums as well.

No matter what we shoudl stick together as others have said all ready smile

I for example wont be playing SoR either but dont expect to see me any less! There is nothing wrong with us trying to build a great commuinity around roleplaying games, which is why that I also think its great that Atmus has signed up smile

Age of Conan : http://www.ageofconan.com/conan/en/index.html
Might be hard to roleplay in - will depend a lot on the community but the mature rating might keep some of the none-serious people away.... of cuase that rating could also work the other way around!

hey norah! good to hear from you smile
I am going to check out that Uru thingy!

Victoria making a list of game suggestions is a good idea, but I dont htink we should vote on what game(s) to play. People shoudl play whatever they think is fun and interresting. Which is why i also support everyone who play SoR...at least they have been lucky enough to find a game they like, unlike me! wink

Yeah I think thats a good idea smile

All i can say is that when i played the harvester tutorials i was bored... (well, except for the one time where i got a senior guide to roleplay a bit with me!)

Mortenj has put up the new unofficial seed/rgd forums! I feel like adding that I think its very cool of them to do this!

Figured that a forum like this might be useful...Hope no one minds but hopefully this could keep out some of the random chat from some of the other forums smile

Anyways, I recently stumbled upon this game called DEFCON. Basicly its about blowing eachother up with nukes.... Its from the makers of Uplink if that rings a bell at anyone.
There is a demo and the full version is only ~15 usd. I suggest checking it out...it got an interresting feel to it but not that many gameplay hours in it i fear.
I paid for the full version becuase i thought it was one very cool idea and also to hep support the company. They have put out 3 games in total now, all of which got some very interresting and new gameplay ideas so I dont mind supporting them smile

Hi,

We are now reaching the absolute end of Seed, as the game server will be closed down after tomorrow, Sunday 8 October. I cannot get in touch with the server at the moment, so it might already be unintentionally down. This state will be permanent and intentional after tomorrow :-)

This website, www.seedthegame.com, will also close down after tomorrow. We will keep www.runestone.dk alive, and make sure to update it with any news we might have. We will probably also move the forum to www.runestone.dk.

So, after tomorrow, Sunday 8 October, no more Seed, but we can stay in touch at www.runestone.dk

See you,
Anne

And there we have it... :\

Nice of them to keep the forums open!

Just like you Tin I have been trough that list many times recently as well....but without finding any good games.
I guess i am hopening that NWN2 will kick ass....but I also doubt that :\

Well... everyone who have followed the IRC channel just a little bit knows what I think of the game... wink

I honestly cant see myself paying for it... I agree that the skill system (and the way you make your own spells and actions) is really great and well made....but it simply requires to much grind. And well... after playing seed I am having a hard time seeing myself grinding a ton in an MMORPG. I am in this for the RP, and problem is that the game doesnt care much for this aspect. Sure its posible and it might be the best game out there for it, but it simply isnt good enough for me! Futhermore I dont agree with the fact that the atmosphere is good... Maybe I dont care much for this whole sci-fantasy setting they got going but I am simply having a hard time relation to the world and setting.

Ah yes Age of Conan. I have been visiting their site quite a lot recently. Looks quite interresting (more interresting then warhammer online imo).

I also plan to get my hands on NWN2. Joinning (or making) a perma world might be the way to go... There is quite a fuss at the NWN2 forums about what can be done however...it seems that perma worlds in NWN2 might harder to make then it was in number 1.
I fear I have officialy giving up on SoR... I gave that game way more time then I normally would in the hope that i might like it...but it just isnt :\

Some of you may have seen it, but mecha posted this link at IRC and I thought I would share!
Normally I dont like south park but this is really good!

Those big machine thingys....that blue hallway...the stairs... the pipes!
It looks damn nice! Thanks a lot mecha for posting these! and thanks to the gxf department for taking time to make em!

" Quit it because, game quality below what I wanted and notting to do." --- shock!!!!

NWN2: might have a chance of some decent RP if we either make our own perma world or join one with other roleplayers. I have asked over at mmorpg.com for other suggestions for a characther driving game but got no response (best suggestion was EVE...No hard feelings, but it is not char driving!)

DDO: I played that that for some time as well and was quite entertained. But mostly becuase I often played it with a RL friend and we were part of the same guild (which was very relaxed, didnt powerlevel...at least not a lot wink ). As long as you dont rush to much it can actually be a good game...however it requires that you got a good group at all times. No RP (RP guilds, but no "random" RP by people in general, and has been pointed out its hard to RP when the game is very fast paced)

I would like to hear some feedback from people who might have played ATITD. If you are too compared it to Seed (I know, its hard wink ) what would you say is the differences and what is the same?

Indeed I was thinking something along those lines as well... However I could imagaine that not every char is as attuned to their "Sap" as others.

"Oh, and in addition, if you have, say a technological walkie-talkie kind of thing, how about RPing the fact that it's not perfect? It could have distorted sounds, hisses, humming and whatever. We did this in WoW to great effect. Magic communication, on the other hand, could be too direct and semantically confusing. People using terms that mean different things to themselves and saying too much... or assuming the other one knows things they don't by habit."

Oh now thats an interresting idea smile

Yeah we faked some of the readings in the power leech (kitty asked me to go and do the readings heh) and it was my plan to have usede em as a slap in the face if the chimbot didnt make it.
